1.expose...to (be exposed to): 易患……病

When having a cold, children are exposed to pneumonia.

2. be suspected of: 原意是“怀疑……”可以引申为“怀疑……患……病”。

He was suspected of having a cold.

    他被怀疑感冒了。

3. fall a victim to: 本意是“成为……的牺牲品”，常用来表示“患……病”。

The longer a person has smoked, the greater becomes his liability to fall a victim to lung cancer.
