Reading generally is in crisis. Many different reasons are given: lack of
encouragement from parents, competitionfrom TV and the Internet and computer
games. But the government and schools should never give up on youngsters.
Schemes can be started to encourage kids toread more and thereby get into the
habit of an activity that will bring real fulfillment.

trust -- a parent, a grandparentor teacher, a coach or a counselor -- and ask
them to help you stay on track tomeet your goals.
