My training:
In High School, I studied French along with other subjects like maths, science,
geography & history. I trained as a Master Carpenter & Joiner with a
large construction company, before studying for a Bachelor Degree, with a major
focus on cross cultural relations and foreign languages.
My experience:
French was an unlikely introduction to my later career, where I studied 4 languages in
the Philippines over a period of 15 years. I have taught
students face-to-face, individually and in groups. My expertise is in
conversational English, idiomatic expressions, pronunciation, grammar and
sentence construction. I love teaching reading, comprehension and writing skills.
Like many Australians, I love telling stories - especially funny stories, and
stories about family background - as these contain elements that are often
unique, but also similar to other people’s experiences. I also enjoy music and
singing, because songs tell stories in a different way.
As an Australian, I look forward to speaking a slightly different style of English. I
hope I can talk with you soon.
